As part of the SoNorA project (www.sonoraproject.eu), the partners of the Berlin-Brandenburg logistics network IPG Infrastruktur- und Projektentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH and WAGENER & HERBST Management Consultants GmbH Potsdam were selected by the Joint Land Planning Department Berlin-Brandenburg in January 2010 with the creation of “Case study Berlin / Brandenburg SoNorA “.
In the SCANDRIA project (www.scandriaproject.eu), the IPG mbH has now been contacted by your partner WAGENER & HERBST to submit an offer by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Agriculture of the State of Brandenburg for the study “Case study on the development of block trains Berlin-Brandenburg “Including the organization and monitoring of one or two pilot trains.
The goal is to reinforce the KV traffic in the North-South Corridor of the SoNorA and SCANDRIA projects. The focus of the studies is on the turntable function of the Berlin-Brandenburg region in particular with the location Wustermark and its GVZ Berlin West Wustermark including KV terminal.
In the SoNorA project part, an infrastructural, KV-supply and market analysis in the North-South corridor is to be carried out. A potential investigation will provide information on further traffic flows in the region. With first system proposals, the results of the analysis of the actual state and the potential investigation are combined and finally summarized. Approaches for new transports are to be developed. The project part “SoNorA” was started in January 2010 and runs until June 2010.
The project part “SCANDRIA” requires the preparation of a feasibility study for the technical, organizational and economic realization of the new transports. Furthermore, the pilothic reaction of one to two identified block train relations is included. An evaluation of the pilot phase forms the end of the project. The project duration is planned from January 2010 to December 2010 (main services) / March 2011.
